The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.

~ Carl Rogers

My philosophy.

I believe in the good, power and strength within in each person. I recognize every person is resourceful, creative and whole. I see my role as someone to walk this path of discovery along side you, helping you develop the tools and skills you need to heal, overcome challenges, and live your best life.

How does this work?

  1. Reach out.

It all begins with a simple email, phone call, or text. We’ll introduce ourselves and talk about what prompted you to reach out. Then we will set up an initial appointment in person, at my office located in the West Loop, or we can meet virtually through my secure and HIPAA compliant telehealth portal.

2. Set goals.

We’ll work together to identify what goals you want to work towards. Maybe you want to resolve a difficult situation, or feel differently about something that’s been painful. Maybe you are going through a transition in life, career, family etc. Maybe you want to develop new skills for coping with stress, anxiety or depression. Whatever your situation, we can work together to find goals that will change your life for the better.

3. Get started.

Together, we’ll implement the most effective approach for you. I utilize evidence based methods to help clients reach their goals. That means research has proven these methods to be effective. That said, there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Depending on your needs, we may use cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness or other approaches.

4. Reflect.

We will evaluate what’s working, measure progress toward goals and take an honest look at what’s not working. We will celebrate success and make adjustments when needed. For some people therapy is something they do for a short time to resolve a specific issue or reach a goal. For others therapy becomes an ongoing part of their health and wellness routine or part of their support network. And for others it’s something in between. We will continually reflect on our progress and goals so we can find what’s best for you.
